At Divine Drops, we are fortunate to work with dedicated individuals who share our mission of providing menstrual dignity, education, and empowerment to women and girls worldwide. One such remarkable individual is Lovetta Qualah, an intern from Liberia, who joined us through the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
Lovetta, who works for the Orange Foundation in Liberia, is the founder of PADS for Girls in Liberia, an initiative that provides access to menstrual hygiene products for girls in the country. Her work with PADS for Girls is a testament to her deep commitment to improving the lives of young girls in Liberia by breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation and ensuring that no girl misses out on school because of her period. Through her dedication and leadership, Lovetta has been instrumental in creating sustainable solutions for menstrual health in Liberia, addressing one of the most pressing issues facing young women in the country.

One of the things that has deeply impressed us about Lovetta is her unwavering dedication to menstrual health and hygiene, particularly in a country like Liberia, where these issues have been largely overlooked. Lovetta has seen firsthand the struggles that women and girls face in Liberia when it comes to menstruation. Many are forced to use unsafe, unhygienic materials due to lack of access to proper menstrual products, and in some cases, this leads to serious health problems. Lovetta’s commitment to this cause is personal—she has experienced the harsh realities of menstrual health in Liberia, and it pains her to see young girls suffer in silence.
Lovetta has made it her mission to ensure that future generations, including her daughters, will not have to endure the same struggles. She does not want her personal experiences or the experiences of others to carry forward into the next generation. This drive is what fuels her work every day, and it is what makes her such a powerful advocate for menstrual health. Lovetta’s ability to channel her past into meaningful action for change is both inspiring and humbling.
As part of her internship with Divine Drops, Lovetta helped us advance our Reproductive Health Champions project in Tanzania. She worked directly with Grace, our Tanzania Director, to empower local women with knowledge about menstrual health and provide them with the tools they need to educate their communities. Lovetta's insight, passion, and dedication were invaluable to the project's success, and she played a pivotal role in ensuring that we were able to reach more women with the resources they need to thrive.
Additionally, Lovetta completed our Train the Trainer certification, gaining critical knowledge on reproductive health education and menstrual dignity. She now holds the skills to lead her own workshops and share her expertise with others, and we are thrilled to know that Divine Drops now has a trained leader in Liberia who can carry the torch for menstrual health education in her community.

What stands out the most about Lovetta is her character. She is a compassionate, insightful, and highly dedicated individual who brings not only her skills but also her heart to the work she does. Lovetta was a true asset to our team, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with her. Her presence in our projects has left a lasting impact, and we are excited to continue the partnership with her as she works towards empowering women and girls in Liberia.
We are especially looking forward to meeting Lovetta in person this summer, when she will be visiting us. Her passion for reproductive health and her ability to make a real difference in the communities she serves continue to inspire us.
A special thank you to the Mandela Washington Fellowship for making this partnership possible, and for helping bring such an extraordinary individual into our work. We can't wait to see how Lovetta continues to champion reproductive health in Liberia, and we are proud to have played a role in her journey.
Thank you Lovetta, we are so excited to continue to work with you in all the things you do with PADS and menstrual health and hygiene around the world!
